The Salzachtal Valley was formed by historical glaciers and is today bed for the lake Zell.  “The Cell at the lake”. The word Cell has is origins in the historical meaning for an economic cell. Zell am See was an historic point of important trading routes. Zell am See was home to many trade people and that maybe the roots of its great hospitality.
