EXPLORE THE HEIGHTS OF THE VERBUND RESERVOIRS IN KAPRUN

You can travel comfortably to the 2,000-meter-high Mooserboden Reservoir with a shuttle bus and with the Lärchwand inclined lift. On arrival, you can take a tour of the barrage wall or visit an exhibition to gain an insight into the eternal ice of the glacier world. Incidentally, the breathtaking landscape surrounding the dam is ideal for hiking. Your day trip starts at the Kesselfall-Alpenhaus, which can be easily reached by car or bus. The bus trip first takes you through the Lärchwand Tunnel and then continues to the Limberg Dam and past the barrage wall of the lower storage lake Wasserfallboden. You then pass the Fürthermoar-Alm and continue on up to the Mooserboden Reservoir which lies at a height of 2,040 m.

THE LÄRCHWAND INCLINED LIFT

Europe's biggest inclined lift has been completely renewed and is back in operation. Buses and the inclined lift are used for the transfer up to the reservoirs. The entire bus trip takes approx. 45 minutes.

INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE MOOSER DAM

The barrage wall of Mooser Dam rises almost vertically to a height of 107 m and bends between the rocks over at total length of 494 m. A tour of the dam offers visitors a rare opportunity to become familiar with the interior of the construction. Our competent employees will reveal further details and tell some anecdotes from the dam's long history … Ticket sales at the ticket counter in the valley or directly at the kiosk Mooserboden Reservoir. Meeting point for guided tours is the Mooserboden kiosk. The tours take approx. 1 hour and are offered daily from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. every 45 minutes. Group bookings (from 15 persons) should be made in advance..
